GrowthZone recently released the 2022 Association Industry Survey results. Last November, GrowthZone surveyed over 300 association professionals across the U.S. and Canada.
The results showed a number of interesting trends impacting today’s associations covering the topics of:
-Annual operating budgets
-Membership growth and retention
-New services and innovations
-Lessons learned from 2021, and so much more!
A highlight of interesting data points:
The year-over-year change in net membership numbers showed promise that memberships numbers are bouncing back from the pandemic’s impact on associations.
43% of respondents anticipated membership at year-end will show a net increase over 2020. Whereas last year, only 19% of respondents said membership increased. New membership numbers also increased.
63% of respondents have a documented value proposition message that they use in planning and member interactions. When asked, “Do you believe members clearly understand the value of your organization and the specific solutions you offer them?” 47% said their members recognized the value proposition.
