Success Story: Revenue-Producing Video Newsletters

To accompany its regular monthly newsletter, the Valparaiso Chamber has begun producing a video newsletter to give members an opportunity to watch the news instead if they’re pressed for time.

These videos have increased the visibility of the Valpo Chamber to the community at large. Newsletter open rates have since risen to over 40%. As a result of its popularity, members have begun to seek ways to sponsor the video newsletters, creating a new non-dues revenue stream for the chamber.

At each chamber event, members comment on the videos and want to know how they can be in them. Attendance has increased at ribbon cuttings and other events, largely as a result of these videos serving as nice reminders for members.

The ACCE awarded the video newsletters with an Excellence in Communication Award, and the Indiana Chamber Executive Association awarded them as the top newsletter in the state.
