After transitioning to a database that didn’t meet their needs, the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce began searching for a better chamber management system. After returning to GrowthZone, members loved the bright design, dynamic features, and the ability to manage their own business listings. They could post promotions, update information, and increase their online visibility - enhancing the overall member experience.

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce had one simple goal: to provide an engaging, efficient, and modern member experience while keeping operations running smoothly. But after transitioning to a database that didn’t meet their needs, staff struggled to manage member information, events, and website integration.
The previous chamber management software didn’t allow members to customize profiles, showcase logos or highlights, or easily register and pay for events online. “Compared to what we were used to, it felt like dial up when you’re used to high speed internet,” said Sylvia Spury, Executive Vice-President & COO. Staff couldn’t track payments or updates efficiently, and members lacked flexibility in managing their own information.
The Lake Norman Chamber returned to GrowthZone, seeking a database built specifically for chambers of commerce. “GrowthZone is definitely it. If you are a chamber of commerce or somebody in this type of work—whether economic development or whatever—it would be the number one answer,” Spury explained.
GrowthZone AMS provided one integrated chamber management system that combined website functionality, member profile management, online event registration, and automated payments—all in a single, easy-to-use platform. The Chamber could implement their feedback and customize features for enhanced member visibility, improving the overall member experience.
Members quickly embraced the new system. “What they’re seeing, they love. The bright colors, the movement, the fact that people can go in and do their own thing,” Spury said. Members could now manage their own listings, post promotions, and register and pay for events directly through the website.
Operations became more efficient, saving staff time while improving communication and member engagement. “Hopefully in time, GrowthZone AMS will give us a lot more time to do other things,” Spury added.
The Chamber found the AMS intuitive and easy to use. “We expected GrowthZone AMS to be harder to use, but it’s been very easy. I’m thrilled. I look forward to coming into work everyday to learn something new to get this chamber website looking even better than it already is right now,” Spury shared.
By returning to GrowthZone, the Lake Norman Chamber simplified workflows, enhanced the member experience, and created a modern, integrated system that allowed staff to focus on growth and delivering value to members.
