The Challenge

Relationships are key to the Northeast Association of REALTORS. With more than 2,000 members, its mission is based on strengthening members' careers and improving the lives of those who live and work in the communities they serve. They do this by connecting members to the information they need when they need it. However, over the years, this became more difficult.

For several years, the association worked with solution providers who weren't providing solutions specific to the real estate industry. CEO Maria Brogan led the search to find association management software that met the team's needs.

"We found that the custom membership module of the platform we were using was often down and when it wasn't, it was extremely time-consuming to use for membership coordination," Maria said. "Plus, we were paying a lot of money in credit card fees, which really ate into our bottom line."

The Solution

While comparing their options, Maria spoke with other real estate associations and chambers of commerce, and one solution was highly recommended over the others by several of the associations and chambers: GrowthZone.

The Results

The difference in switching to GrowthZone was significant. The association saved about $20,000 in credit card fees in just the first year of using GrowthZone. With GrowthZone's E-Commerce functionality, the association now pays credit card fees only using a portion of its dues. "I really can't express how saving all this money on credit card fees has benefited us," Maria said. However, the impact went beyond dollars.

Members appreciate the simplicity of making payments within just a few clicks, and staff no longer need to manually process registrations or chase down billing issues. This allows staff more time to focus on serving members. "We've had very few calls from members with confusion about dues like we used to get, so it's working, and we're immediately using the time saved expanding our services to members," Maria said.

Ease-of-use has been just as important as integrations. "It saves time for our staff of three to do other things," Maria said. "I love we don't need IT knowledge to get the most out of the software ... They make website management easy. Everyone on our team feels empowered to modify content."

We’ve had very few calls from members with confusion about dues like we used to get, so it’s working and we’re immediately using the time saved expanding our services to members.
