The Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) serves medical professionals who provide best treatments and practices to bring healing and hope to cancer patients and their families. Shortly after Julie Newberry, FLASCO’s Director of Operations, came on board, the association experienced an 88% growth in membership over three years.
With a significant increase in membership over a short period of time, Julie and her colleagues were struggling to continue managing member data and programs on a large Excel spreadsheet. Their past experiences with spreadsheet failures and data corruption created a fear of having to recover information for over 2,800 members.
After evaluating several AMS platforms, FLASCO staff felt most comfortable with the GrowthZone capabilities. But, with change comes a little fear. “We were very nervous about possibly losing the functionality and flexibility of our workflows,” said Newberry. “However, the GrowthZone team was understanding, responsive, and reassuring throughout the transition.”
The onboarding process included several conference calls between FLASCO staff and the GrowthZone onboarding team, along with training videos and demonstrations of the many program modules and features.
It didn’t take long for FLASCO staff to realize that the automated systems in place eliminated tedious tasks, and there were fewer errors. “We especially appreciate the registration component of GrowthZone,” continued Newberry. “It was amazing how productive we were in managing the event from start to finish.”
As the FLASCO team continues to master more GrowthZone modules and features, they have more time to focus on member retention and growth. They have already increased the number of events and programs on their 2019 calendar because they have streamlined the planning, registration, and follow up tasks with GrowthZone’s powerful Events Module.
