Small Staff, Big Mission: How GrowthZone's AI Gives Lean Association and Chambers Teams Time Back

New AI capabilities take on the repetitive, time-consuming work stretching thin association and chamber teams, so they can focus on their members and their mission.

ATLANTA, GA / September 17, 2026 /  GrowthZone, a leading provider of association and chamber management software, today outlined its approach to artificial intelligence across its platform, along with new and upcoming capabilities built on that foundation.

Most associations, chambers of commerce, and nonprofits run lean. Many operate with five staff members or fewer doing the work of twenty, juggling member communications, events, renewals, and reporting--often across several disconnected systems. A lot of that work isn't strategic. It's chasing down information and copying it from one screen to another. GrowthZone's AI investments are built to take that work off a small team's plate, acting as an extension of the staff rather than another system for them to manage.

"When you only have a handful of people running your organization, every hour spent chasing information is an hour not spent on your members or your mission," said Paul Plaia, III, CEO at GrowthZone. "We want GrowthZone to feel like extra staff. AI should draft the outreach, flag the risk, or surface the priority, and let your team decide what happens next. People stay in the loop for anything that matters."

Built on a Few Consistent Commitments

GrowthZone's approach to AI rests on four principles:

    • Embedded, not separate. AI lives inside the workflows staff already use, not a standalone chat interface.
    • Human in the loop. AI drafts and suggests. Staff review and approve before anything important goes out.
    • Plain language. Recommendations read the way association and chamber teams already talk, not like technical output.
    • Data privacy first. Association and member data is handled with the same care GrowthZone has always applied to it.

Available Today: AI-Powered Engagement Scoring and Campaigns

AI-powered engagement scoring and engagement campaigns are already live in the GrowthZone AMS, helping lean teams spot disengaged members and reach them first, without ever leaving the platform.

    • Engagement Scoring builds a single score for every member from signals and sorts them into champion, active, passive, and at-risk segments, so staff can see who’s slipping away before they have to go digging through activity records to find out.
    • Engagement Campaigns turn any scored segment into ready-to-send outreach. Staff pick the audience, exclude anyone already contacted, draft the email, and ask AI to tighten, shorten, or adjust the tone, with the staff keeping final review and approval before anything goes out.

What's Coming Next

GrowthZone is building on that foundation with additional capabilities now in development:

    • Member Concierge, coming soon in beta, will answer routine member portal questions and point members toward self-service actions, cutting down on the routine requests that land on staff.
    • A Reporting Connector (MCP) will enable read-only analysis of GrowthZone data through external AI tools, so teams spend less time pulling and reshaping data by hand and more time acting on it.
    • AI-assisted Collections to reduce the time spent pursuing past-due payments. In conversations with customers, chasing past-due payments consistently comes up as the single task they most want to hand off to software, and GrowthZone plans to work directly with customers to reduce that workload.

Longer-term, GrowthZone is also exploring a command-center homepage that would surface a team’s highest-priority work, including AI-drafted items, in one place.

"These capabilities are all built around the same idea," said Kelly Dick, Chief Product Officer at GrowthZone. "Take the repetitive work off your plate, so your team can spend time running more events, getting more members engaged, and bringing in more non-dues revenue that keeps your organization growing."

To help associations and chambers put these capabilities to work, GrowthZone is also launching a webinar series, covering practical ways lean teams can put AI to use today. Registration is open now at growthzone.com/webinars-and-events.
